Originally aired: Monday October 16, 2006 on E! Nick and Aaron attempt to start their own record label, but Nick is taken aback by Aaron's work ethic (he shows up late for meetings), his music (Nick thinks Aaron's trying too hard to be ghetto when he's not) and Aaron's choice of label names (he doesn't want the Carter Bros. moniker). After Nick repeatedly mocks Aaron's musical attempts, they strike a deal. Aaron cleans up his mess in the house and, in exchange, Nick listens to all of Aaron's songs without sarcasm. As Nick listens to Aaron's music, he advises Aaron to write lyrics to his music. Later, when Aaron records his songs at Nick's studio, Nick admits that he's impressed with his brother's talent. Meanwhile, the Carter sisters attempt to pursue their own separate goals. While Leslie works on her singing/songwriting (and gets advice from Nick and Aaron), Angel tries to break into the world of modeling. After some photo shoots, Angel tells Nick that an agency is interested in signing her. B.J., meanwhile, gets a job working as an apprentice to Nick's chef friend, but fails to impress him after showing up late for her first day of work (thanks to Aaron, who drove her). After a rocky start, B.J. learns to make crab cakes and fills in as a bartender at night. Later, at family dinner, B.J. shows off her newly acquired culinary skills by cooking dinner for the Carters. Nick admits that he's proud of each and every one of his siblings for pursuing their separate career goals. |
